Maths tutoring - Work done

In order to bring the subject some significant context, I believe it would be useful to begin a topic by first reviewing its value. Then I would run through some easy cases. I have to emphasise that there are no dumb questions, anything to aid a tutee's comprehension is crucial. After I've gone through a couple of examples, I would love to have the student gone through their own case, talking to me as if they were the tutor and I was the tutee.

Many researches have shown that trying to clarify an idea you have a while ago learned helps greatly in retention as well as comprehension. If I'm satisfied with their teaching, I wish to test their critical thinking by giving them an issue based upon everything learned in the lesson, yet with subtle adjustments that require the student to proactively engage with the work, rather than be on "autopilot".

Home assignment will be set on the topic discussed (nothing extra intense), and better lessons will be spent responding to exam-styled questions prior to carrying on to the following theme.

During lessons I 'd like to motivate a fairly informal, friendly environment. I have a good time teaching, as well as I wish students have a good time in my training sessions, and an unwinded mind is better at learning.
